Meet the Host

Dr. Kat is a native of Chicago, Illinois, and a dedicated scientist and anatomy professor. She holds an Associate of Science, a Bachelor of Science, and a Master of Science in Biological Sciences, as well as a Doctorate in Education for Health Professions.

Beyond her work in the sciences, Dr. Kat brings more than 15 years of experience in radio broadcasting, marketing, and production. Her distinctive announcing style and DJ presence have been featured on several stations, including KWWJ-Gospel 1360 AM in Houston, Texas; WYCA Rejoice 102.3 in Hammond, Indiana; KABF 88.3 FM in Little Rock, Arkansas; and KUAP 88.3 FM in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Her contributions to broadcasting and community engagement have earned her the 2004–2005 Houston Gospel Announcers Guild Horizon Award and the 2021 NAACP Community Service Award in Southern Illinois.

Dr. Kat has served as a Mistress of Ceremony, moderator, and talent judge for numerous events. She is also an accomplished writer and producer of theatrical productions and the creator and host of her own Inspirational Jazz concerts. Her productions include The Inspirational Jazz GALA 2004 and KatJam #1: The Inspiration Celebration GALA (March 2021)—with more on the horizon.

In her leisure time, Dr. Kat enjoys traveling, cruising, attending theatrical performances, and relaxing with her family. She is deeply humbled to have been given the vision for her virtual platform, Friday Night LIVE, and is honored to serve and inspire audiences around the world.
